We are loving this Season’s
new polka dot trend - it’s
fun, playful yet has a timeless
elegance.
Iconic figures such as
Marilyn Monroe and Minnie
Mouse first cemented the
pattern as a symbol of
femininity and fun during
the mid-twentieth century.
Over time, polka dots have
transitioned from retro chic to
modern muse, making them
suitable for a wide range of
occasions; be it whimsical
workwear, special occassions
or a date with family/friends.
The pattern has enjoyed a
resurgence thanks to designer
Boden, the effortlessly uber
cool presenter Alexa Chung
and the mix of colours being
brought to the table today.
While monochrome black
and white is still hugely
popular (it always will be, by
the way) new colour swatches
of pink and charcoal, blue
and brown or red and navy
are making a welcome
appearance on the catwalks
and high street of late.
